Drivers for more distance off the tee

The driver is the club you hit the furthest with: the largest head, the longest shaft and the lowest loft in your whole set. On the tee it often sets the tone for the hole. Below you'll read what to look for when choosing a driver, which brands we stock and how to complete your set.

What to look for in a driver

Four features decide which driver suits your swing:

  • Loft – the angle of the face (often 9°–12°); more loft generally gives more height and control.
  • Adjustability – many modern drivers have an adjustable hosel and weights to fine-tune ball flight.
  • Shaft and flex – match the stiffness and weight of the shaft to your swing speed.
  • Forgiveness – a high moment of inertia (MOI) keeps off-centre hits straighter, ideal for beginners.

Complete your set

A driver works best as part of a balanced set. Add hybrids for versatile long shots, a set of irons for your approach and wedges for the short game. Round off your set with a matching putter for the green, alongside fairway woods for the long shots after the tee.

Drivers from top brands

Our range features drivers from the best-known golf brands:

  • TaylorMade – including the popular Stealth and Qi10 lines.
  • Callaway – known for the Paradym and Epic drivers.
  • Cobra – forgiving, adjustable models with plenty of speed.

Headcover, sale and second-hand

Frequently asked questions about golf drivers

What is a driver in golf?

The driver is the longest club in your bag, with the largest head and the lowest loft. You mainly use it on the tee of long holes to gain as much distance as possible. Its length and volume make it the most powerful club, but also the hardest to control.

Which driver suits me?

Beginners and higher-handicap players often choose a forgiving, adjustable driver with a little more loft. Advanced players may pick a lower loft and a more specific shaft. If you play left-handed, left-handed drivers are available too. When in doubt, choose the model that gives you the most confidence on the tee.

What does the loft of a driver mean?

The loft is the angle of the face, usually between 9° and 12°. A higher loft generally gives more height and is more forgiving; a lower loft gives a flatter, potentially longer ball flight if your swing speed is high enough.
